How to add a LinkedIn account to the FS Poster Plugin

Option 1: Use the Built-in Standard App to add your account to the plugin;

Option 2: Create a personal App and use the App to add your account to the plugin.

Use the Built-in Standard App to add your account to the plugin

Please follow the steps below to add your LinkedIn accounts:

1. Go to FS Poster > Accounts > LinkedIn menu;

2. Click the ADD AN ACCOUNT button. It will use the Standard App by default, and that App is hidden. You do not need to check the "Use a custom App", if you do not have one;

3. And click the GET ACCESS button and authorize your LinkedIn account;

4. Activate communities.

The LinkedIn token expires when you change your account password or after 1 year of adding your account to the plugin because Linkedin token lifetime is only 1 year. Please delete and add your account to the plugin again when the token is expired.

If your post images are not visible after you share your posts, you can debug your website on the LinkedIn developer page to see the reason.

Create a personal App and use the App to add your account to the plugin

Please follow the steps below to create a LinkedIn App and add your accounts using this App:

Go to the LinkedIn Developers page;

Create an App by clicking the Create App button;

Fill in the details about your App and create the App:

After creating the App, you need to request access to all three LinkedIn additional products:

Go to the FS Poster => APPS => LinkedIn menu and copy the Redirect URL:

Go to the Auth tab in the App settings and add the Redirect URL to the App settings.

Also, copy the App credentials:

Go to FS Poster > APPS > LinkedIn menu;

Click the ADD AN APP button;

Paste the App Client ID and secret and click the ADD AN APP button. Make sure that there is no white space before and after the ID and the secret key when you are adding them to the plugin;

When the form for the Marketing Developer Platform is approved, go to FS Poster > Accounts > LinkedIn menu;

Click the ADD ACCOUNT button, check the "Use a custom App", select your App from the select box, click the "GET ACCESS" button, and authorize your LinkedIn account;

Activate your LinkedIn account and business pages and start sharing your posts on LinkedIn.
